In the lead up to APEC 2018, the city of Port Mores­by under­went major trans­for­ma­tion that changed the face of the nation’s cap­i­tal. New infra­struc­ture and roads were con­struct­ed in part­ner­ship with the PNG Nation­al Gov­ern­ment, as the city made prepa­ra­tions for the APEC sum­mit which was held in Novem­ber, 2018. The Star Moun­tain Plaza Project com­pris­ing the Hilton Hotel and Kutubu Con­fer­ence Cen­tre were two promi­nent venues used for the sum­mit for accom­mo­da­tion and meetings.
